We welcome anyone who is lonely or lives with family who themselves need a break.
We have an experienced chef who provides a lovely home cooked meal and refreshments throughout the day. We offer our members help with daily care if necessary, including bathing for those who request it by one of our Care Assistants. We are proud to have the generous support of many volunteers who help generally to entertain and chat to our members.
We care for people of all ages, though most of our members are in their late years and a few have signs of mild dementia. We specialise in looking after and caring for adults in their later years. We have regular Cognitive Stimulation Therapy with Jocelyn usually on a Thursday which helps with memory loss and communication problems. We also have regular arts and crafts sessions and other popular activities.
Lindsey from Extend visits us twice a week for gentle armchair exercises to encourage gentle movement of the limbs as well as mental stimulation.
Every day we have something going on to keep our members busy and entertained. We often have fund-raising events and in the past years have raised £10,000 to buy a much newer minibus. Owning a minibus allows us to offer short outings to our members. We also have raised funds for a new bathroom with the kind support from Annie our own fund raiser.
